Uganda Premier league champions SC Villa will host their CAF Champions League Preliminary round against Ethiopia’s CBE at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
Swift Sports Uganda understands that the management of Namboole has allowed the record Uganda Premier league champions to host their CAF games at the venue.
According to sources, SC Villa President Omar Mandela has been in contact with Namboole management for the past couple of days.
There were fears that Namboole was to be unavailable this month since the running track was to be fixed at the Stadium.
The latest development means that SC Villa will host their first leg game against Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) at Namboole between 17th August.
Kitara who are Uganda’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup have already confirmed that they will host their first leg contest against Libya’s Al Hilal SC at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi, Libya on Friday 16th August at 8pm.
Meanwhile, Kenya will host their opening game of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Zimbabwe at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
