Daniel Shabena has completed his return to Express FC, according to FUFA TV’s Sportlight.
Shabena has been a free agent after his contract with newly promoted side Mbale Heroes expired at the end of last season.
The workaholic central midfielder returns to Express, a side he played for four years between 2018 – 2022.
Shabena won the Uganda Premier League title and the CECAFA Kagame Cup with Express in 2021.
For starters, Shabena rose to the topflight scene with the now defunct KJT Rwenshama in the 2014-15 season.
He went on to play for the Uganda Hippos (U-20) and Jinja based sides JMC Hippos and BUL FC.
He joined Mbale Heroes in 2023 and guided the club to a topflight league promotion at the end of the previous season.
He scored one of the two goals that inspired Mbale Heroes to a 2-1 victory over Onduparaka which subsequently secured the club’s promotion.
Express FC already signed Derrick Ngoobi, Emmanuel Alex Wasswa and striker Sam Ssenyonjo as earlier reported by this website.
