The 2024 prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup competition resumed with match day seven over the weekend.

Nine games were played at several playgrounds on Saturday and Sunday.

In Masengere Group, three time winners Mawokota suffered yet another defeat with a narrow 1-0 loss to Ssese on Saturday.

Jordan Ariaka scored the all important goal for Ssese.

Mawokota came into the game back of a 1-0 home defeat to their neighbors Busujju. Defeat over Ssese leaves Mawokota’s chances of progression to the quarterfinal stage in a balance.

Still in the same group, Kabula smiled to a 2-1 victory over Buvuma with Edwin Aguma and an own goal from Samuel Nantajja scoring for the latter. Derrick Ssemugoma struck for Buvuma.

Busujju and Busiro shared spoils in a 1-1 all draw, Eddie Bulwanyi and Shakibu Mayanja scored for their sides respectively.

Two time competition winners Ssingo cruised to the quarterfinal stage after a narrow 1-0 away win over Kyaggwe in Muganzirwaza group.

Ibrahim Ssengooba scored the only goal of the contest in the second half.

Kooki and Gomba played to a 1-1 draw with Joseph Ondago and Alex Kiiza scoring for either side respectively.

Mawogola and Buwekula game was abandoned in the second half due to fans’ pitch invasion. Buwekula was leading at the time the game was suspended.

Buluuli and Bulemeezi shared spoils in a four goal thriller in a Bulange group game. Abdul Salam and Robert Ssewanyana scored for Buluuli while James Tekakwo and Ronald Obed netted for Bulemeezi.

Buddu returned to winning ways with slim 1-0 win over Butambala, Martin Nsubuga scored the only goal of the game in the second period.

Bugerere and Kyadondo drew 1-1 in the other Bulange group game. Henry Wamala scored for the hosts Bugerere while Marvin Praise Wambuga had given Kyaddondo the lead.
