MASAZA CUP:Kyaddondo-Buddu ends prematurely as Kabula seal knockout slot

Matchday eight of the prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup returned over the weekend with several games played on Saturday and Sunday.
The Bulange group contest between Kyaddondo and Buddu ended prematurely following fans’ pitch invasion.
The entertaining contest that had produced four goals ended in tear gas in Gayaza.
At 2-2, referee Henry Musisi awarded Buddu a penalty in the closing stages that saw Kyaddondo fans invade the pitch.
The events off the pitch again dominated the encounter that is fasting turning into a real rivalry between the two sides.
Several Buddu fans are currently nursing wounds after being reportedly beaten by Kyaddondo faithfuls.
In the same group, Bulemeezi and Bugerere played out to a goalless stalemate while Butambala cruised to a 2-1 victory over Buluuli with Nicholas Kirabira and Derrick Walugembe scoring for the home side while Robert Ssewanyana struck for Buluuli.
Buwekula and Kyaggwe shared spoils in a goalless stalemate in Muganzirwaza group game while Gomba beat Mawogola 3-1.
Felix Wafula and a brace from Jeremiah Rwotho earned Gomba maximum points while Nasulu Kagimu found a consolation for Mawogola.
Ssingo and Kooki also ended prematurely at Mityana Ssaza ground. Kooki players protested after the referee had awarded Ssingo a penalty in the 75th minute.
In Masengere Group, Kabula sealed a place into the quarterfinal with a late win over Busiro, thanks to Patrick Mutebi goal.
Mawokota also returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory over Buvuma, with Ashiraf Kigozi scoring the all important goal.
Busujju also inch closer to the knockout phase following their comfortable 2-0 victory over Ssese. Eddie Bulwanyi and Arafat Murugeya scored their two goals.
