MASAZA CUP: Mawokota win petition against Ssese, awarded three points and three goals

David GOMBE

The Buganda Masaza Cup Ethics and disciplinary committee has made a ruling on the petition filed by Mawokota against Ssese.

Mawokota has been awarded three points and three goals after a successful petition against Ssese.

It has been established that Ssese used ineligible players during their 1-0 win over Mawokota in Lutoboka in the game that was played on 17th August.

Jonathan Lugemwa who was donned shirt 23 and Peter Kigundu No.14 were not licensed something that violated the rules that govern the Masaza Cup competition.

The committee also found out that players that were given licenses in those names are not the ones that featured in that particular game.

According to the album, Katerega Ibrahim played in the names of Kigundu Peter who was licensed.

After succeeding in their petition, Mawokota have been awarded three points and three goals while Ssese have been docked three points and one goal for violation of the competition rules.

Ssese head coach Moses Kyagera has been handed a one match ban and told to pay Shs500,000 for violation of the competition rules.

The development is a significant boost for three time Masaza Cup winners in their bid to reach the quarterfinals of the competition, they now move to 12 points in Masengere Group.

Brian Ssenyondo is their new head coach having replaced Steven Bogere who was sacked due to a poor string of results.
