Police and Soltilo Bright Stars vie for maiden victory in the Kavumba derby

It will be a battle for the first win of the season for the two sides as Police FC host Soltilo Bright Stars in the Kavumba derby on Tuesday 24th-September.

The Cops have played to two goalless draws this season after failing to win against BUL FC at Kavumba and Mbarara City at Kakyeka.

On the other hand, Soltilo Bright Stars played to a one draw with Wakiso Giants at Wakisha and lost their most recent game 1-0 to URA FC at Kavumba.

Simon Peter Mugerwa the Police FC head coach adamant that his team.have done enough homework to get off the mark.

“The concentration has been on how to create more chances and seeing how we can score the first goal and go on to get our first maximum points.”

“Our target as the team is to perform well, we do not want to be among the struggling sides.”

His opponent Joseph Mutyaba the Soltilo Bright Stars coach believes after working hard on the finishing side, positive results are very possible,

“Depending on our previous game against URA, we managed to create so many chances which we failed to convert and that has been our main focus in our training sessions so we are hopeful of positive results.”

The Cops are boosted by the return of Timothy Muwanguzi and Isaac Ogwang.

Soltilo Bright Stars also have Fiat Cleophus and David Kizza returning.

The last 18 meetings between the two sides, Police has won five whereas Soltilo Bright Stars have won three and the ten have ended in stalemates.
