Rashid Okocha scored the all important goal as NEC FC beat UPDF FC 1-0 to record their third straight win of the 2024/24 League season on Tuesday at Lugogo.
NEC came into the game after back to back wins over Vipers (3-1) and their 2-1 victory at Kitara and were the overwhelming favorites for maximum points against UPDF FC.
But struggled against a determined and well organized Paul Kiwanuka’s UPDF.
NEC needed something special to breakdown UPDF’s resilience and with four minutes to normal time, Okocha struck for the hosts to send their fans into elation and despair for visitors.
Victory takes NEC FC to nine points and stay top of the league standings while UPDF FC are on four points.
