Referee William Oloya was at the center of controversy during BUL’s 1-0 win over URA FC at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo on Friday.

Oloya denied URA FC what looked like a penalty on video when Hillary Onek fouled Ivan Ahimbisibwe inside the area at the death of the contest and immediately blow the final whistle.

URA FC players were left in frustration and protest as BUL celebrated their first victory of the campaign.

Abbey Kikomeko’s side came into the game after losing two straight games to SC Villa and Mbarara City and had also drawn against Police FC and KCCA FC.

Pascal Ngoobi gave BUL FC an early lead with a sensational strike that left goalkeeper Denis Otim helpless in the 3rd minute of the game.

Bruno Bunyaga had a decent chance to level matters for the tax collectors in the second half but his header hit the crossbar.

Alex Isabirye’s charges continued to press for the equalizer but couldn’t break down BUL FC defence led by their former player Najib Fesali.

Victory sees BUL FC move to five points on the Uganda Premier League table while URA FC who suffered their second defeat of the season remain on seven points.
