Kitara captain Owachigui signs contract extension

Captain Maxwell Owachigiu has committed his future to Ugaanda Premier league side Kitara.

Owachigiu’s new employment contract will see him play for Kitara FC until June 2025.

He is one of the longest serving players at Kitara FC whom he joined in 2017 from Booma Young FC.

Staying at Kitara FC was easy for Maxwell as reported by the club website,

“I am really happy and thank the club for letting me be part of thud team, the decision was very easy because we are a family and when you feel that way it makes it easier.”

Defender Benjamin Nyakoojo and Jude Ssemugabi are the two players that have also renewed their stay at Kitara FC.

The club also unveiled defender Ronald Otti and former Maroons FC captain David Ndihabwe as their new signings.

Kitara FC defeated NEC FC 1-0 at Wankulukuku to be crowned champions of the last edition of the Uganda Cup.

They finished last season fourth with 54 points from 29 games.

Kitara FC will play against Ethiopia’s Mechal SC in a friendly match slated for 14th July in Addis Ababa.
