URA FC make light work of Gaddafi to record first win of the season

Four time Uganda Premier league champions URA FC prevailed to their first league win of the 2023/24 season with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Gaddafi FC at Mehta Stadium on Friday.

Moses Aliro and Najib Fesali goals fired Fred Muhumuza’s side to maximum points.

This was the tax men’s first win this season having played to a goalless stalemate with UPDF FC in their league opener last weekend.

Gaddafi on the other hand succumbed to a second consecutive defeat. The Jinja based side lost 2-1 to Vipers SC in their first league game.

Aliro opened up his account in the league at the half an hour mark after being fed by Hassan Kalega.

In the 57th minute, Fesali doubled the hosts advantage capitalizing on goalkeeper Andrew Ssekandi’s mistake.

Gaddafi will be seeking to make amends on Thursday next week when they host Kitara FC who beat UPDF FC 1-0.

The tax collectors next travel to Soltilo Bright Stars on Friday, 29th September.
