Striker Fahad Bayo and Musa Ramathan have joined Ethiopia Premier League side Welwalo Adigrat University FC, Swift Sports understands.

The Ugandan duo last played for MFK Vyskov in the Czech Republic second tier league last season.

Bayo’s move comes a week after winning the case against Vyskov for terminating his employment contract and will be compensated with $55,000.

The former Vipers and Proline striker was close to joining Yanga in Tanzania, Rayon Sports in Rwanda and also had offers from Egypt.

Musa was also a target for Uganda Premier League side Express FC but negotiations to sign him never materialized.

Musa rose to the scene with KCCA FC following his graduation from the club’s Junior Team and subsequently had a stint with Cincinnati II in the MLS Next Pro League.

Their new side Welwalu Adigrat University FC, is bottom placed on the Ethiopian Premier League table with eight points from 18 games played.

Founded in 1948 as Welwalu Football Club, the club is funded as part of Adigrat University, a public institution.

Nafian Alionzi, Allan Kayiwa, Geoffrey Wasswa, Brian Aheebwa, Gift Fred, Simon Peter Oketch, Thomas Ikara, Martin Kizza, Alex Kitata and Charles Musiige are other Ugandans in the Ethiopian Premier League.
