Dusan Stojanovic is extremely unlikely to return to the Uganda Premier league this transfer window, Swift Sports Uganda understands.
Stojanovic who ended SC Villa’s 20-year league title drought in 2023/24 season was strongly linked with a move to KCCA FC and Vipers SC.
This website has established that KCCA FC couldn’t meet Stojanovic’s demands before appointing Brian Ssenyondo and Jackson Magera as Co-coaches.
According to sources, the Serbian asked for a salary worth Shs20m per month and wanted to bring in his own technical staff at KCCA FC.
Meanwhile, Vipers SC were also interested in Stojanovic’s services but the latest indicates that the reigning league champions are unlikely to appoint the Serbian tactician but remain keen on beefing up their technical staff with a foreign coach this window.
John Ayala Luyinda and Fred Muhumuza were in charge of the Venoms as they clinched a second Cup double last season.
His former side SC Villa are also expected to name another foreign tactician this week after the untimely departure of Nemanja Milincic. Villa part ways with Morley Byekwaso who had replaced Stojanovic.
Stojanovic is currently unemployed since his departure at Sudanese giants Al Merrikh where he served as assistant coach to fellow countryman Milutin Sredojovic.
Stojanovic unceremoniously left SC Villa months after guiding the Jogoos to their record extending 17th Uganda Premier League title.
He has also previously worked as Micho’s immediate deputy at Zamalek and the Zambian national team.
