Baker Mboowa has left his head coach position at Express FC, the club has confirmed.
In an official communication, the club starts that both parties have parted ways on mutual consent.
Sources close to Mboowa reveal that he has been on a receiving end of relentless messages from the Express FC fans calling for his resignation.
He took charge of the Red Eagles in March last year as a replacement of Alex Isabirye who had also resigned from the position.
Mboowa and Express FC endured a rough spell in the closing stages of last season coupled with financial constraints and a poor run of results on the pitch.
A significant group of Express fans continuously expressed their discontent in Mboowa and openly believed he wasn’t the right man for the job.
He finally gave in after Express lost 1-0 to an Oliver Mbekeka coached Lugazi FC on Tuesday this week and subsequently tendered his resignation.
Express are currently 8th on the table with eight points from six games played so far.
Badru Kaddu is currently the interim coach as the Red Eagles intensify preparations for their next game against Wakiso Giants slated for Saturday 2nd November.
