Veteran football administrator Mansoor Kabugo has been appointed as chairman of Butambala Ssaza team ahead of the 2023 Masaza Cup edition.
In the previous four editions, Kabugo has been working in the same capacity at five time Masaza Cup winners Gomba.
Kabugo’s main objective is to help Butambala win the prestigious Championship for the first time in their history.
“I have served well at Gomba Ssaza team, we won the 2020 Masaza Cup championship when I was serving in the same capacity. It was a wonderful journey and now my focus is to help Butambala attain them same success and I remain hopeful that we shall achieve this with the fans.” Said Kabugo
Kabugo also served as head of Technical at Gomba in 2017. He is also the Kampala Junior Team (KJT) director and replaces Hajji Adam Ntale Golooba as Butambala Ssaza Football team committee chairman.
Meanwhile, Butambala will be under the stewardship of Emuron Recoba who was in charge of the side during the 2020 and 2021 editions before being replaced by Mustafa Kayinda last year.
