Vipers SC ended Mbarara City FC’s 16-match home unbeaten run with 3-1 victory at Kakyeka Stadium on Tuesday.
Allan Okello netted a brace of penalties before Yunus Sentamu added the other to send the Venoms to the top of the Uganda Premier league.
This was also the fourth consecutive time that the Venoms cruised to maximum points after victories against SC Villa, Wakiso Giants, Police FC.
Mbarara had gone 16 league matches without losing at home since their 1-0 defeat to NEC FC on match day one of last season.
Okello gave the visitors the lead in added time of halftime converting his first penalty.
Early in the second half, Okello struck another penalty for the Venoms before Latif Ssenkubuge pulled one back in the 56th minute.
Sentamu sealed maximum points for the Kitende based side in the 70th minute.
Meanwhile, Okello is now joint top scorer with five league goals and has scored in three consecutive games.
Vipers are top with 16 points, one and two above NEC FC and KCCA FC who have played a game less.
The Kitende based side will next host KCCA FC on 9th November.
Mbarara City are now fifth in the log with 9 points they have recorded so far this term.
