The Managing Director of Mandela National Namboole Stadium, Jamil Ssewanyana has revealed that the facility will soon have new floodlights.

While appearing on NBS Sport, Ssewanyana also asserted that the revamped stadium will have several games played since it is now a multipurpose venue.

“Floodlights from France will soon be installed, with everything set for an enhanced stadium experience.” Said Ssewanyana before adding,

“Beyond football and rugby, expect more excitement at the revamped Mandela Stadium! We are bringing in netball, basketball, woodball, and more!” So those who think the facility is limited to a single sport should broaden their perspective since it now a versatile multipurpose venue.” Revealed Ssewanyana

On 15th November, Uganda Cranes will host South Africa in their final AFCON 2025 Qualifier home game at Namboole but Ssewanyana has stated that fans should expect better in terms of entrance than in the previous games that the venue has hosted.

Uganda Cranes only need a point against the Bafana Bafana to secure a return to the continental showpiece.
