Uganda Cranes kicked off preparations for their crucial final two games of Group K of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Under the stewardship of Belgian tactician Paul Put, players held a training session on Monday at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
More foreign based players including skipper Khalid Aucho (Young Africans, Tanzania), Taddeo Lwanga (APR, Rwanda), Travis Mutyaba (Girondins Bordeaux, France), Abdu Aziizi Kayondo (FC Slovan Liberec, Czech Republic), Isaac Muleme (Victoria Zizkov, Czech Republic), Charles Lukwago (Venda FC, South Africa), Steven Mukwala (Simba SC, Tanzania) all took part in Monday’s training.
Kenneth Semakula, Rogers Mato, Bevis Mugabi and Halid Lwaliwa and Swedish based forwards John Paul Dembe and Calvin Hope Kabuye are the players yet to link up with the squad. KCCA FC’s Shafik Nana Kwikiriza is currently having his UACE exams at JIPRA SS.
Uganda currently tops Group K with 10 points and a point against South Africa on Friday at Namboole will see the Cranes return to the continental showpiece after missing out on the previous two editions.
The Cranes will intensify training on Tuesday 12th November 2024 at 4pm.
