Vipers SC moved to the summit of the Uganda Premier league with a 2-1 win over Soltilo Bright Stars on Saturday at Kavumba Recreation.
John Ayala Luyinda coached side to top of the table standings leapfrogging NEC FC who drew with URA FC on Thursday.
Gusto Mulongo and Allan Okello scored the two goals for the Venoms in the first period.
Warren Buule found a consolation for Bright Stars whose struggles continue this term.
Mulongo gave the visitors the lead in the 15th minute after Bright Stars goalkeeper failed to deal with Moses Waiswa’s corner kick.
Okello doubled the Venoms advantage finishing off a move started by Abdul Karim Watambala.
Buule pulled one back for the home side at the half hour mark.
In the second period, Nelson Senkatuka had a glorious opportunity to level matters but his effort hit the upright.
Vipers held on to maximum points and went top of the table with 24 points and will next host BUL FC on 14th December at Kitende.
Bright Stars on the other hand stay bottom of the log with just six points.
