CAF Awards 2024: History Beckons for Kitara’s Denis Omedi on D-Day

Uganda Cranes and Kitara FC forward Denis Omedi will be seeking to write his name in the history books at the CAF Awards due on Monday December 16 in Morocco.

Omedi is among the 11 Nominees for this year’s CAF goal of the Year award.

His Rabona goal against KCCA FC in the FUFA Super 8 contest at Lugogo was nominated alongside ten other goals from top African stars for the gong.

In case he succeeds, Omedi will become the first Ugandan to win the goal of the year accolade.

However he will fellow into the footsteps of Denis Onyango and the Uganda Cranes team to win an award at the annual CAF awards.

Onyango won the CAF African based player of the year award in 2016 and the Uganda Cranes were named National Team of the year.

For goal of the year accolade, the fans votes will count 70% of the overall score with the other 30% going out to CAF’s Technical Experts.
