Senkaaba grabs hat-trick as ruthless Kitara thrash Express 7-0

Kitara FC ran riot against Express FC register the biggest win of the 2024/25 season at the Royals Park in Butema.

Striker George Senkaaba grabbed a hat-trick and Jude Ssemugabi got a brace while Fred Amaku and David Ndihabwe scored one apiece to secure a historic 7-0 win over the Red Eagles.

The defeat is also the heaviest defeat suffered by Express FC in league history overwriting the 6-1 drubbing against Police in the 2019/20 season.

Senkaaba gave Kitara an early lead with a header from Solomon Okwalinga’s neat cross in the 3rd minute of the game.

Amaku had an opportunity to double the lead in the 8th minute through a penalty kick but he instead blasted the ball far above the bar.

Ssemugabi made it 2-0 with a brilliant solo goal that saw him drive the ball from his own half before slotting it below the gloves of goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa in the 21st minute.

Amaku made amends for his early missed penalty as he made it 3-0 from Senkaaba’s header following Benjamin Nyakoojo’s long ball in the 36th minute.

Senkaaba made it 4-0 in the 58th minute with a close range finish from Jude Ssemugabi’s well delivered cross.

The former Express and SC Villa striker then completed his hat trick with a tap in after Kalyowa spilled Rogers Mugisha’s powerful shot in his way in the 77th minute.

A minute later, Ssemugabi reacted faster to win possession from the restart before slotting in Kitara’s sixth goal of the game.

Ndihabwe completed the rout with a perfect header from Okwalinga’s corner kick in the 85th minute.

Kitara have now scored 17 goals in the last three games having previously thumped Maroons 4-0 and Mbale Heroes 6-0.

The thumping victory took Wasswa Bbosa’s men to the 9th place on 17 points on level with Police, UPDF FC and SC Villa.

Kitara will visit Wakiso Giants and host SC Villa in their final first round games when the league resumes next month.
