UPDF FC beat fellow strugglers Busoga United 2-0 in a relegation six-pointer at Bombo to register their first win after 13 games.
The Army Men have been winless in their last 12 games after losing 10 and drawing twice with their last victory dating back in November against BUL FC at Bombo.
A win over was so much needed for the Army Men if they are to keep their slim and fading chances of surviving alive.
Forwards Brian Kalumba and Ezekiel Katende scored the goals to inspire a comfortable win over Busoga United.
Kalumba who recently returned from Rwanda’s Kiyovu SC, scored the opener in the 20th minute and long serving winger Katende sealed the victory in the 81st minute.
Despite victory, UPDF remained 15th on the table but moved to 13 points from the 20 games played.
Busoga United remained a place higher (14th) with 16 points from 19 games played.
Busoga will seek redemption when they host Soltilo Bright Stars on Thursday 14th March while UPDF will visit BUL FC on Tuesday 12th at Njeru.
