TANZANIA: Steven Mukwala scores twice as Simba beat Kagera Sugar

Steven Dese Mukwala scored a second half brace as Simba SC earned a 5-2 win over Kagera Sugar in the NBC Tanzania Premier League on Saturday evening.

The Uganda Cranes striker found target in the 67th and 85th minute to complete the rout.

Shomari Kapombe, Jean Ahoua and Congolese midfielder Fabrice Ngoma scored the other goals for Simba.

Mukwala has now scored four league goals and provided two assists since joining Simba at the start of the season.

Former KCCA and URA FC forward Peter Lwasa is the highest scoring Ugandan in the Tanzanian League so far having scored five goals for Kagera Sugar.

The 5-2 emphatic win took Simba to the top of the table on 34 points accumulated from 13 games.

Azam FC who have played two games more, are second with 33 points while defending champions Yanga are third with 30 points from 12 games.

Yanga will host Tanzania Prisons on Sunday evening with hopes of closing in on the coveted top spot.
