Ahead of the CHAN 2024 that will be hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania beginning February 1st 2025, Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku has been added onto the list of training grounds to used during the competition alongside Mandela National Stadium outside pitch, Kadiba and KISU.

Earlier, Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, African Bible University Lubowa and Kyambogo University were considered but have been removed due to factors including traffic jam and lack of time required for completion.

It is understood that Wankulukuku’s proximity to the city center has been key and works will be done on the V.I.P wing, the dressing rooms and the toilets.
