FUFA President Eng.Moses Magogo has confirmed that they investigating whether there was match fixing in the game between Kitara FC and Express FC.
Kitara thrashed Express FC 7-0 on 21st December in Hoima which was the heaviest defeat that the Red Eagles have ever suffered in the topflight division.
Many Express FC faithfuls called for investigations in regards to the contest.
“There’s an investigation going on about that match, when we get any notification our investigative team takes responsibility. Let us give them time and I am sure we shall get the real truth since they have all the tools to investigate.
We have used expertise to fight match fixing and that’s why all the 19 individuals we have banned no one has come out to challenge us.” Said Magogo while addressing the media in his New Year’s address on Thursday.
Magogo also fired a warning to those that pre-determine results
“This is a strong warning to those that are involved in the business of match fixing. One of the cardinal missions of FUFA is to protect the game and that we shall do. Last year, we banned 19 people and I want to assure you that we have the capacity to investigate and identify those involved. Please Report, Resist and Reject such vices.” Said Magogo
Last year, match officials, players and club officials were banned due to predetermining of results in topflight and lower leagues.
