Mbale Heroes crisis deepens with defeat to Maroons

Mbale Heroes FC woes continued with a 1-0 defeat to Maroons FC at Luzira Prisons grounds.

Ivan Mayanja scored the only goal that handed Maroons FC all the three points in the 11 minute from the spot.

The penalty was awarded after Ivan Asaba was brought down in the box.

Asaba had a chance to double the lead for the Prison Warders in the 42nd minute only to miss from the spot.

Victory takes Maroons FC to the fourth position with 22 points from 14 games.

Mbale Heroes remain down in the relegation zone 15th on the table with only nine points from the same number of games.

Maroons FC will climax the first round against Vipers SC on Monday 6th January at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

Mbale Heroes FC will host NEC FC on Tuesday 7th July at Mbale Municipal Stadium.

In other games of the day Police FC and KCCA FC played to a barren draw at Kavumba Recreation grounds.

Struggling Soltilo Bright Stars lost 2-1 to Express FC at Nakivubo.
