Former Express FC defender George Ssimwogerere has let trip at his old club and their hierarchy in a scathing attack after sacking of James Odoch.
Ssimwogerere has launched a blistering attack on Express and accused the club of having weak leadership and players not up to scratch.
While appearing at YouTube channel Vybe Life Ug, Ssimwogerere stated,
“I played for Express and coached it for some good years but they aren’t appreciative and easily change. I predicted what is happening at Express FC years ago. They lack leadership as a club though it’s easy for them to make decisions regarding sacking of coaches.” If Kiryowa Kiwanuka left his role as club chairman then the club should elect someone who cares about the club.”
Said Ssimwogerere before adding that the club’s signings were not to standards of Express
“The current Express FC CEO sacked Odoch from day one not after the draw against BUL FC. Express doesn’t have a training facility, they didn’t recruit any player who costs at least Shs3M and no player at the club is paid Shs1M. So how do you expect a coach to deliver success in such an environment. I applaud Odoch for managing to accumulate 13 points with such players.”
Ssimwogerere believes the Red Eagles must fight to overcome relegation and try to bring people with responsibility into club management
“Express should try to finish the league in any position without being relegated and after get a responsible and passionate people into management.” Said Ssimwogerere
Express FC will be under the stewardship of club legend Hassan when they next face arch-rivals SC Villa on Friday at Muteesa II Stadium.
