Emmanuel Ajo’s deal shrouded in controversy

Busoga United striker Emmanuel Ajo was seemingly snapped up by NEC FC but the deal has now been shrouded in controversy.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that before signing for NEC FC, Ajo had a termination letter and already signed for Uganda Premier league champions SC Villa.

Busoga United Chairperson Diana Nyabo then took the player to NEC FC who paid Shs15M for the player’s signature. The deal also included add ons worth Shs8M. The player himself received Shs8M as sign on fee.

This website also understands that SC Villa also gave the player money for his signature and put pen to paper on a three year deal.

SC Villa had a received a termination letter from Busoga United CEO Derrick Lule before he was sacked by the club Chairperson Nyago.

Ajo and his representatives want to refund the money that they received from SC Villa back but the record Uganda Premier league champions’ President Hajji Omar Mandela insists he wants the player at Villa.

Sources also reveal that SC Villa have already reported the matter to FUFA.

On Monday, SC Villa Spokesperson Asan Kasingye claimed that the club had made Ajo as their first signing this transfer window.

With both sides insisting that their deal for Ajo is watertight, it has now up to FUFA to decide the player’s next destination.

The latest developments have muddied the waters further in what is turning out to be a real transfer drama.
