Milutin Sredojevic Micho has officially been named as the new head coach for Sudanese giants Al Merrikh SC on a one and half year contract.
Micho has been a free agent since September last year after he was relieved of his duties at the Libya national team.
The former Cranes tactician fills the void left by Giovani Solinas who was sacked by the club on January 8th following a string of unconvincing results.
Micho’s immediate assignment is to guide Al Merrikh back to the rails and compete for a respectable finish this season.
It should be noted that Sudanese giants Al Merrikh and Al Hilal currently compete in the Mauritanian Premier League due to a prolonged political unrest in Sudan.
Al Merrikh currently sit distant 10th on the table while Florent Ibenge’s coached Al Hilal are 6th on the log with six games in hand.
Micho is expected to deputized by 2024 Uganda Premier League winning coach Dusan Stojanovic as his immediate assistant.
It should also be noted that the Serbian Wolf previously coached Al Hilal (Al Merrikh’s rivals) in 2010/11.
