Russia’s FK Spartak Moscow has confirmed that Ugandan defensive midfielder Joan Nabirye has officially left the club.

Nabirye leaves Spartak Moscow after both parties agreed on a contract termination.

“ZFK Spartak and midfielder Joan Nabirye have terminated the contract by agreement of both parties,” reads the club statement.

Nabirye joined Spartak Moscow in January last year on a two year contract and officially leaves with one year left on her contract.

The industrious midfielder is expected to join a new side as the transfer window inches towards its closure.

Nabirye has previously featured for Muteesa I Royal University, Asubo Gafford Ladies, Kampala Queens, Vihiga Queens (Kenya) and FC Minsk in Belarus.

Besides Nabirye, Fauzia Najjemba is the other Ugandan who plies her trade in Russia with Dynamo Women Football Club.
