Uganda Premier league champions SC Villa have decided to rip up Winger Peter Onzima and defender Edward Masembe’s employment contracts.

Onzima had a year and half left on his employment contract with the record League champions but the club has decided to release him. He joined Villa at the start of the 2023/24 season from Busoga United.

Masembe’s contract on the other hand was due to expire at the end of this season but the club has decided to end his stay.

Both players won the 2023/24 Uganda Premier league title with SC Villa that saw the club end it’s 20 year title drought under the stewardship of Serbian tactician Dusan Stojanovic.

Masembe and Onzima join Hakim Kiwanuka who joined Rwanda’s Giants APR at the start of this transfer window.

SC Villa finished the first round of the season in eighth position with 20 points and will begin the second round of the season away to struggling Wakiso Giants Fc on 11th February, 2025.
