Botes names Crested Cranes Provisional Squad for WAFCON Qualifier matches against Ethiopia

Uganda Women Senior Team (Crested Cranes) head coach Sheryl Botes has summoned a provisional squad of 39 players to prepare for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2026 Qualifier matches against Ethiopia.

Uganda will host the first leg on Friday, 21st February before traveling to Ethiopia on Wednesday, 26th February.

Botes’ charges are seeking to return to the women’s continental showpiece for the first time since the 2022 that was hosted in Morocco.

U-17 players Doreen Aujat, Shadia Nabirge, Agnes Nabukenya, Martha Nabirge and Rinah Ariho are also part of the named squad.

The team will enter camp on Sunday 9th February 2025 at Cranes Paradise Hotel Kisaasi and train from MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
