The FUFA Appeals Committee has dismissed the appeal filed by KCCA FC in case against Mbarara City FC.
Last month, the FUFA disciplinary Panel decided that KCCA FC lost their encounter against Mbarara City by forfeiture for fielding Gavin Kizito Mugweri who was ineligible due to card accumulation.
The Ankole Lions were awarded three points and three goals.
KCCA FC had initially won the game 2-0 before Mbarara City filed a petition.
The 13-time league champions were not dissatisfied with the decision and lodged a petition but FUFA has dismissed it.
According to FUFA, the Appeal filed by KCCA FC against the decision of the FUFA Disciplinary Panel has been dismissed.
*The decision issued by the FUFA Disciplinary Panel is upheld as the FUFA Appeals Committee concluded that the FUFA Disciplinary Panel arrived at the correct decision where KCCA FC fielded an ineligible player in the Mbarara City FC Vs KCCA FC match played on 7th January 2025 and hence lost the match by forfeiture.
*The FUFA Appeals Committee emphasised that it is the sole responsibility of the Club to field only eligible players. Fielding eligible players is of critical importance as it ensures high reliability and integrity of competitions.
