NEC FC will be seeking a maiden double over KCCA FC as both sides face off at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo this evening.

The Hussein Mbalangu coached side sits second on the table with 33 points and will be aiming to close the gap back to one point following Vipers’ 2-0 win over URA FC on Tuesday.

KCCA FC, 4th on the table with 24 points will be aiming to make amends following an abysmal end of the first round that saw them lose three points to Mbarara City by forfeiture.

The Abdullah Mubiru coached side will be negotiating the anticipated contest without six players who are ruled out by injury and suspension.

Gavin Kizito is suspended while Hassan Muhamud (broken finger), Usama Arafati (thigh), Peter Magambo (foot), Sammy Ssebaduka (ankle) and Julius Poloto (achilles tendon) are all ruled out by injury.

NEC FC will miss Ibrahim Thembo (muscle injury) and defender Ibrahim Kiyemba who is recovering from malaria.

New signing Umar Lutalo is in line to make his KCCA debut following his switch from Kitara FC, likewise Ibrahim Kasinde and Alpha Thierry Ssali are also in the NEC FC match day squad for the first time.
