Buganda Sports minister attributes successful year to committed stakeholders

Owek. Robert Serwanga has appreciated all those that have always supported the sports activities in the Buganda Kingdom.
He made the remarks at the Buganda Sports Awards 2024 held at Butikiro house hosted by Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga,
“I want to take this opportunity to thank all those that have always supported the Sports activities in Buganda Kingdom.”
“This is the first of this kind in the Ministry, we have done so because we know those who excel need to be appreciated and we believe those that did not make it to this stage will work hard to also achieve. So I urge those who did not excel to continue working hard I am opmitstic sponsors will come on board to support this.”
Different sports personalities who excelled were awarded plus committee members and different media personalities.
Outstanding personalities
.Best fan – Abudallah Ssebuwuufu- for his supported for the Bika and Masaza tournament
.Best female cyclist – Kevin Nakato-she won two out of the three races
.Best male cyclist- Aziz Ssempijja- won all the three races he participated in.
.Youngest Mweso player- 17 years old Kawuuki Quraish of Mawogola
.Youngest Kigwo player-17 years old Jamil Kizito
.Journalist choice football- Pius Sebuulime- Buddu
.Journalist choice netball- Rachel Nanyonga- Nnyonnyi Nnyange
.Most supportive golf person- Dr Ssebale Kato
.Ggombolola Cup outstanding Committee award-Mutuba I Mazinga ( Ssese)
.Most supportive host institution- Kawanda SS
.Schools with highest number of teams- Wampewo Ntake Secondary School and St Julian each brought 7 teams
.Embracing women sport ( Ggombolola Cup)Bulemeezi, Gomba, Kabula, Mawogola and Mawokota
Best team media officer- Sinan Waiswa- Busiro
Amaato outstanding Committee- Allen Nagirinya- Buweekula
All Committee members and media teams were awarded with certificates.
