UPDF FC cruised to a 2-0 win over champions SC Villa in the Uganda Premier league contest at Bombo Barracks Military Grounds on Sunday.

Kitara Daniel and Brian Kalumba inspired the army side to their first win over the Jogoos since 2021.

SC Villa’s record on the road is more than a little worrying as they remain winless on the road this term.

Kitara gave the hosts the lead in the 13th minute when he headed home a superb Tebandeke Christopher cross. The Paul Kiwanuka coached side went into the halftime breather with a deserved narrow 1-0 lead.

In the second period, substitute Kalumba doubled UPDF FC’s advantage and secured maximum points.

The army side is now level on points with SC Villa both on 24 points. SC Villa are 8th on the log while UPDF are 10th.

UPDF FC will visit inconsistent URA FC on March 7th in their next league match while SC Villa host Maroons FC at Luzira on the following day.
