The second round of the 2024/25 FUFA Big League officially kicked off on Sunday, 2nd March with several entertaining contests.
Blacks Power after their shocking Uganda Cup triumph over NEC FC returned to action away to Arua Hill in the contest that ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
Mike Amori gave Arua Hill the lead before Innocent Maduka levelled matters for the visitors.
Despite the stalemate Blacks Power are now top of the Big League standings level on points with Gaddafi FC (30 points) but the latter has a better head to head record.
It should be remembered that Blacks Power beat Gaddafi 2-1 in the first round meeting in Lira.
Gaddafi FC suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Kaaro Karungi at home and now second on the log. Gideon Onyango scored a late-late goal in added time of game to earn maximum points for visiting Kaaro Karungi.
Buhimba United Saints overcame Calvary FC 2-1 at Kigaaya playground to go third of the standings.
Calvary FC are now fourth after their defeat to Buhimba Saints FC.
Paidha Black Angels humbled Onduparaka 3-1 in the West Nile derby at Bar Okoro in Zombo.
Paidha Black Angels are now fifth on the table and seven points adrift of leaders Blacks Power while Onduparaka are sixth on 22 points.
Charles Ayiekoh’s Busoga United registered a narrow 1-0 win over Kataka in Jinja. Both sides are now level on points with 20 points.
Busoga United are seventh due to a better head to head record over Kataka having registered a 1-1 draw in Mbale before their win on Sunday.
