KCCA FC cruised past Rwenzori Lions 4-0 during the round of 16 contest at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Tuesday.
James Mubezi netted a brace with Sadat Anaku and returning Etienne Katenga scoring the other goals for the 10-time competition champions.
This was the first ever Stanbic Uganda Cup game to be played under the floodlights of Lugogo and the first game that KCCA FC have hosted in the competition since the 2022 edition.
Under the stewardship of Abdallah Mubiru, the Kasasiro boys are eyeing a record extending 11th Stanbic Uganda Cup title.
They have previously won the title in 1979, 1980, 1982, 1984, 1987, 1990, 1993, 2004, 2017 and lately 2018.
KCCA FC join holders Kitara FC, SC Villa, BUL FC and Police FC into the last eight.
Meanwhile, the round of 16 will resume on Wednesday with URA FC taking on Kataka FC before Vipers will entertain Blacks Power under the floodlights of St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
