Wakiso Giants have today confirmed the acquisition of defender Shaibu Mtita on a season-long loan from Tanzanian giants Young Africans.

Mtita was promoted to the Yanga Senior Team from their U20 team at the start of the previous season.

The lanky center back was part of the Yanga team that took part in the Mapenduzi Cup held in January this year.

He is expected to bolster the club’s defense in the upcoming season while he gets sufficient playing time in return.

Mtita, 20, automatically becomes the club’s fifth acquisition in the ongoing transfer window.

Hudson Mbalire, Derrick Kaija, Vincent Zziwa and Zambian winger Erick Kabamba are the other signings previously unveiled by the club.

Wakiso Giants lined up a friendly game against Tanzania’s Kagera Sugar at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
