Reigning Uganda Premier league champions SC Villa ended Vipers SC’s perfect start to the second round of the season.
Charles Lwanga scored the sole goal of the contest as SC Villa edged the Venoms 1-0 at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on Saturday.
Vipers came into the game unbeaten since their 3-1 defeat to NEC FC on the opening day of the 2024/25 campaign.
The Venoms also came into the contest, two points above second placed NEC FC who thrashed Express FC 3-1 in the league match on Thursday.
SC Villa on the other hand were unbeaten at home against Vipers since 2021.
Lwanga fired the Jogoos into the deserved lead five minutes to the halftime breather after being fed by Patrick Jonah Kakande.
Vipers held on to maximum points and now move to seventh place on 30 points.
Vipers on the other hand stay top of the Uganda Premier league table with 49 points.
Meanwhile, Mbarara City played out to a goalless draw with BUL FC at Kakyeka Stadium while URA FC returned to winning ways with a 3-2 win over Mbale Heroes at Nakivubo Stadium.
