Tanzanian giants Simba SC reached their maiden CAF Confederation Cup Final after a goalless s Semifinal second leg draw against South Africa’s Stellenbosch FC at Mabhida Stadium on Sunday.

Simba came in the second leg with a 1-0 first leg victory which was enough to send them into the two legged final on aggregate.

The Tanzanian side needed to avoid defeat while Stellenbosch had to overturn the first leg loss but couldn’t overcome goalkeeper Moussa Camara.

Stellenbosch came close in the closing stages with Fawaaz Basadien and Ismael Toure failing to hit the target.

Devin Titus and Sanele Barns also had his effort go inches wide.

Simba under the stewardship of Fadlu Davids prevailed to their first ever CAF Confederation Cup final.

In 1993, they reached the final of the Old CAF Cup only finishing as runners-up and they will now face the winner between CS Constantine of Algeria and Morocco’s RS Berkane in the final.
