KCCA arrest 10-Man Police in Lugogo

KCCA FC overcame Police FC 2-1 in the league contest at MTN Omondi Stadium on Tuesday to smile to consecutive wins.

Shafik Nana Kwikiriza and Arafat Usama goals saw Jackson Magera coached side registered back to back wins.

Before Tuesday’s defeat, the Cops were unbeaten since Matia Lule took over with his side managing two wins and a draw.

The Cops had also not conceded a goal in Lule’s reign but against KCCA they had their goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga sent off for a second bookable offense.

Kwikiriza gave the hosts a deserved lead in the 7th minute when he poked home Emmanuel Anyama’s quality cross.

The visitors levelled matters in the 24th minute when experienced striker Umar Kasumba converted from the spot after Gavin Kizito had handled in the forbidden area.

KCCA restored their lead with 19 minutes to regulation time when Usama’s rebound off a Yian Gatbel effort beat Muwanga.

Before Usama’s goal, Umar Lutalo and Anyama both had golden scoring opportunities to score but couldn’t hit the target.

In the 85th minute, Muwanga was shown marching orders after fouling Gatbel.

KCCA move to fifth place with 40 points while Police are 12th with 30 points. KCCA FC will turn focus to their Stanbic Uganda Cup Semifinal first leg against Kataka FC on Sunday while Police host Maroons in the league on May 10th.
