Butambala Ssaza football team have appointed Richard Malinga as their new head coach for the forthcoming 2025 Masaza Cup tournament.

He replaces Mustafah Kayinda who was in charge of the team during the 2024 edition of the prestigious Buganda Kingdom competition.

The former KCCA Junior team coach has previously served as Mawokota Ssaza team head coach.

During his time at Mawokota, he guided the three time competition winners to two Masaza Cup Semifinals.

He has also served in school football competitions at Amus College and is currently the head coach at Buddo Secondary School in the ongoing National Schools’ competitions.

Butambala have never won the Masaza Cup title and will be hopeful that Malinga can guide them to the promised land this term.
