BUL FC needed a late Reagan Kalyowa sole goal to edge Uganda Premier league champions in waiting Vipers SC 1-0 at Njeru Technical center on Saturday.

Vipers SC knew a win would be enough for their seventh Uganda Premier League title but the Eastern Giants denied them at least for now.

Kalyowa scored the only goal in added time to put Vipers’ champagne on ice on the day their title rivals NEC FC thrashed relegated Soltilo Bright Stars 4-1.

Vipers are now four points above second placed NEC FC after suffering their third defeat of the season. They also remain winless against BUL FC in now five games, with the Jinja based side managing three wins and two draws.

The result still leaves Vipers in pole position for the title as they require just three points from their remaining two games against Kitara FC and Bright Stars.

NEC FC on the other hand will next visit soon to be dethroned Champions SC Villa on 16th May before ending their campaign against URA FC.

BUL FC stay third on the table standings after their victory with 53 points.
