St Mary’s Secondary School Kitende thrashed rivals Kibuli SS 3-0 in the quarterfinal contest of the ongoing USSSA Boys’ National Football championship in Ngora District on Monday.
Goals from Claude Wakenge, Dennis Kisiriko and Arafat Nkoola sent the 11-time national champions into the last four.
The tie between Kitende and Kibuli SS saw the two joint record competition winners face off with both on 11 championships.
Wakenge gave Kitende the lead in the 12th minute when he converted from the spot.
Kisiriko doubled their advantage ten minutes into the second period before Nkoola sealed the victory in the 69th minute.
The Hassan Zungu coached side will now face off with JIPRA in the Semifinal on Tuesday, 13th May. JIPRA eliminated Mentor SS 1-0 in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, Buddo SS also joined the Semifinal part with a narrow 1-0 win over Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga to set up a Semifinal meeting with Bukedea Comprehensive School who needed a 9-8 shootout win over Kyaddondo SS.
