Buddo SS needed a shootout win to overcome their Wakiso rivals St Mary’s Secondary School Kitende in the 2025 USSSA Boys’ National Football final on Wednesday in Ngora District.
Buddo under the stewardship of Richard Malinga clinched the title 6-5 on penalties after a goalless stalemate in normal time.
Kitende came into the final seeking for a record extending 12th title but couldn’t overcome their rivals Buddo.
It was a sweet revenge for Buddo SS who lost to St Mary’s Secondary School Kitende 2-0 at the District level.
This is Buddo’s third USSSA Boys’ National title following their triumphs in 2009 and 2018.
Bukedea Comprehensive School finished as the third placed team at the Championship in Ngora.
Buddo SS, St Mary’s Secondary School Kitende, Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College will represent Uganda at the FEASSSA Games in Kenya this year.
