Super Eagles Lugongwe set up playoff final duet with CATDA after edging Kira United

Katonga table leaders Super Eagles Lugongwe have defeated Ssezibwa group leaders Kira United FC to emerge winners of the Buganda Regional League 2024-25 season.

The two sides played to a goalless full-time draw in the final played at Lugazi FC Stadium Najjembe.

In the penalty shoot outs, Super Eagles Lugongwe emerged winners with a 10-9 victory.

Kira United were Ssezibwa table leaders with 59 points from 24 games.

Super Eagles Lugongwe were Katonga leaders after collecting 53 points from 23 games.

Super Eagles Lugongwe will now face off with Kampala Regional League champions CATDA FC and the aggregate winner will earn a FUFA Big League promotion.

CATDA threw out Ntinda United FC 4-2 in spot kicks after the two sides playing to a goalless full-time draw.

Benjamin Semango of Wobulenzi United emerged top scorer of the season after scoring 20 goals.

Kira United’s Ashiraf Bwabye was named the best goalkeeper of the season.
