The 2024/25 FUFA Big League season officially climaxed on Saturday, 21st June at various playgrounds.

Calvary FC, Gaddafi FC and Buhimba United Saints FC secured promotion to the 2025/26 Uganda Premier league.

Calvary FC overcame Paidha Black Angels 1-0 in the West Nile Derby at Midigo Primary School in Yumbe.

They finished the season top of the log with 52 points, two above fellow promoted sides Gaddafi FC and Buhimba United Saints.

Gaddafi thrashed Kataka FC 3-0 in Mbale thanks to goals from Congolese Jonathan Mbula, captain Thomas Kakaire and veteran striker Frank Kalanda.

Gaddafi ended in second place with 50 points securing a place in next season’s topflight division.

Buhimba United Saints played out to a goalless stalemate away to Kiyinda Boys. A point was enough to secure topflight football for Buhimba United Saints.

Meanwhile, Joseph Sserembe helped Kigezi Homeboyz survive relegation with a 1-0 win over MYDA in Kabale.

Kigezi Homeboyz secured FUFA Big League football again next season while MYDA were relegated.

Blacks Power beat Busoga United 2-0 with Innocent Maduka scoring a brace. Victory was however not enough to get Blacks Power topflight football next season as they finished a point below Buhimba United Saints and Gaddafi and three adrift of leaders Calvary FC.

Busoga United were relegated following defeat while Arua Hill also dropped to the Regional League despite a 10-0 thrashing of Booma.

MYDA, Arua Hill and Busoga all former topflight sides will now feature in the third tier next season.

The newly Big League champions Calvary FC will have their coronation on Sunday.
