The 2024/25 FUFA Big League season came to a close on Saturday, 21st at various playgrounds with three teams confirming their promotion to the Uganda Premier league next season while three former topflight sides were demoted.
Calvary FC, Gaddafi FC and Buhimba United Saints are the three promoted sides while Arua Hill SC, Busoga United and MYDA FC were relegated to the third tier of Ugandan football.
Ntugasaze forward Lawrence Kambugu finished the league as the top scorer with 15 goals to his name.
Kambugu struck a hat-trick on the final day as Ntugasaze suffered a 6-3 defeat to Kaaro Karungi to secure his golden boot.
The former Rays of Grace FC academy forward finished with 15 goals to take home the golden boot.
He finished two goals ahead of Ambrose Kigozi of Kiyinda Boys who scored 13.
His Ntugasaze side finished ninth on the FUFA Big League table with 36 points in 28 games.
Meanwhile, Calvary ended as FUFA Big League champions with 52 points while Gaddafi FC and Buhimba United Saints both finished with 50 points to get topflight promotion.
Arua Hill SC, Busoga United and MYDA FC will play in the third division of Ugandan football next season following their demotion.
