Uganda Wildlife Authority FC (Simba FC) have signed former Express FC midfielder Faisal Ssekyanzi.

Ssekyanzi featured for FUFA Big League side Ntugasaze FC last season.

His acquisition is expected to be a huge boost for UWA FC who will be attempting to earn promotion to the FUFA Big League next season.

Ssekyanzi is a former Young Player of the Year award winner in the 2015 FUFA Awards after his impressive exploits with Express FC and St. Mary’s Heritage.

He was promoted to the Express FC senior team in 2016 but found playing time hard to come his way.

Commonly known as ‘Small Axe’ by his peers for his trickery, Ssekyanzi returned to Express in 2020 after a brief stint at Tooro United.

He went on to win the Uganda Premier League and the CECAFA Kagame Cup in 2021 under the tutelage of coach Wasswa Bbosa.

He signed for Onduparaka FC in 2023 before joining Ntugasaze FC a year later.

UWA (Simba FC) finished second on the Katonga Group table of the Buganda Regional League behind the eventual champions Super Eagles Lugongwe.
