Ugandan referee Shamirah Nabadda has been named as the center referee for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations opening game tonight.
Hosts Morocco will be taking on Zambia in the opener at 11pm (EAT) at the Stade Olympique de Rabat in Rabat.
Nabadda will be assisted by Fanta Idrissa Kone from Mali and Rwanda’s Alice Umutesi as the first and second assistants respectively.
Rwanda’s duo of Aline Umutoni and Salima Mukansanga will be the fourth official and in charge of the VAR respectively.
The delayed 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations was rescheduled to this year following a busy and tight schedule last year.
The tournament will have 12 teams divided in three groups of four while competing for continental glory.
